Sloughs Award

by msecadm4921

The security team at Slough Trading Estate were National Winners 2007 in Best Use of Technology, at the British Security Industry Association’s Annual Security Officer Awards.

The award recognises the mix of 24-hour manned security and CCTV to combat crime, commending the Business Watch team for the way it has worked with businesses and the local community to develop procedures for linking CCTV technology with security patrols and the police service in the area.

Since 2001, incidences on the estate have fallen by nearly 90 per cent thanks to the CCTV operators’ timely identification of suspicious activity and prompt deployment of patrol vehicles. Sir Ronnie Flannigan, her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary, presented the award to Richard Marker-Davies, a member of the security team working in the CCTV control room.

What they say

Business Watch Manager John Devine, present at the ceremony, said afterwards: "Having first secured this prestigious accolade back in 2003, it is testament to our success that we should succeed in scooping the national prize once again. We take great pride in providing a safe and secure environment where Slough Trading Estate customers can conduct their business, and I am delighted that the efforts of our committed and dedicated team have been so highly rewarded."
