HMV, the music and entertainment retailer has signed a contract with TAG Company, supplier of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) products. The contract covers supply of EAS hardware, maintenance and consumables on a rolling 12 month basis for up to three years.

The contract also covers the supply of solutions to protect HMV’s Technology ranges.

Jon Marchese, Director of Business Development at TAG says: ‘Since the late 1990s, TAG has provided product protection solutions to HMV, and helped contribute to their industry leading loss prevention programme. Our aim is to develop the program over the coming years.’ The contract provides HMV with a Service Level Agreement, ensuring the management and control of costs. Sue Lamley, Head of Risk and Loss Prevention at HMV UK Limited says: ’EAS product protection is an important element of a number of measures we employ to address loss, alongside CCTV, information systems and the placement of Loss Prevention Officers in each of our stores and distribution centres.
