Following the launch of Philips CSI?s REO CCTV observation systems, the manufacturer is running hands-on training courses for installers and users. The first is on October 31, at Philips? demonstration suite in Sunbury on Thames. November dates are: Bristol (6, Holiday Inn-Posthouse, Bristol North, M4 junction 19/M32); London Eastÿ(8, Moathouse Hotel, Lakeside, Thurrock; Birmingham (13, Holiday Inn Express, Oldbury, off J2 M5; Glasgow (15, Holiday Inn Express, Glasgow Central Station) East Midlands (22, Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Nottingham/Derby, off J25 M1);
Manchester (19, Novotel, Worsley, off J13 M60); Leeds/Bradford (26, Novotel, Bradford) and Newcastle (29, Marriot Hotel, Metro Centre, Gateshead). Courses run for about three hours (9am to noon, 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm. Features of REO, for four to eight cameras, include selectable motion detection, full history trail, night and day profile switching for round the clock security, alarms and event handling plus intercom and door entry control options. The days provide an introduction as well as hands-on training to familiarise installers and users with REO?s features and ease of installation. According to Philips CSI, the courses are designed to emphasise REO?s plug and play operation and ease of installation which make it suitable for convenience stores, pharmacies, jewellers, fashion retailers, fast food restaurants, hardware shops, camera shops, garage forecourts, schools and small businesses. The four cameras Switcher model allows images displayed manually or sequenced in full screen, while the eight cameras Multiplexer model allows images to be displayed as full screen, in quad (2×2) or in 3×3 split-screen mode with full screen recording of all cameras. REO is a new generation of observation system ideal for up to four or eight cameras. Accessories include slave monitors for front of store displays, Action Boxes for controlling doors, alarm interfaces, interfaces to tills to trigger recording of all till transactions, door bell units plus a wide choice of extra cameras and video recorders.
