MacLellan International Limited, the AIM-listed facilities services provider, has won a £2.9m contract to provide facilities services at retailer Somerfield’s head office in Whitchurch.
After a competitive tender, MacLellan was awarded the contract due to the strength of its management team and ‘can do’ culture, the FM firm claims. The team provides cleaning of the premises including windows, office areas, test kitchens and in-house Somerfield store, and has responsibility for the mechanical and electrical services with on-site engineering support and management of all specialist contractors. Other service provisions include manned guarding and CCTV, landscaping, portering, conference and meeting room suite management and help desk administration. The employees were transferred under TUPE from the incumbent service provider, creating a team of 35, some part time employees who carry out the cleaning. Full-time staff look after the security, portering, maintenance and landscaping.
Meanwhile Maclellan has re-tendered for and won its cleaning contract at Lloyd’s in central London for the next three years.
