Rural crime company

by Mark Rowe

Raising the Rural Bar and Setting the Rural Standard are the messages of the Rural Security Network Group.

In January 2016, business consultants took a look into “life safety” for the 14 million people living and working in UK rural areas. Findings included:

•There is no recognised listing or classification for rural.
•This community was in the main felt unsupported and on their own.
•Clients received post-loss guidance but struggled to get any pre-loss advice.
•Authorities’ resources were stretched and budgets being squeezed.
•Many companies operating without any recognised industry accreditation.
•A plethora of DIY non-compliant, catalogue self-install products in the market.
•Services needed to be provided locally to their community.
•Traditional companies found this sector commercially unattractive.

Hence the RSNG, the Rural Security Network Group. MD Les Barwick, pictured, said: “We started the process of establishing a new credible Rural Security and Fire Standard. We decided to bring existing resources and expertise together as a networking group. We began targeting Professional Security and Fire companies who work in our sector. We identified specialist companies who wanted to support us in making life safer. We began building a Professional Database of local, approved, specialist Rural Security and Fire Companies. We established a new dedicated Rural Security and Fire business hub in Cheltenham called the RSNG. We have received positive feedback from the Police, Fire and Insurance industry who all welcome our introduction into this vital part of our community. If you would like to be part of a professional business who would like to join our network please visit www.rsng.co.uk.” The website has an enquiry form.
