by Mark Rowe

Outstanding work by security officers from guarding companies that are members of the ACS Pacesetters scheme was marked at a lunch at Windsor racecourse on Wednesday, May 25.

Presentations went to Axis Security Services; CIS Security; Key Security Group; Sodexo; TC Security Services; ABM Facility Services UK; Kingdom Security; The Keyholding Company; Ward Security; Broadland Guarding Services; Interr Security; Shield Security Services; UniTrust Protection Services (UK); Venture Security Management; First Response Group; Knight Security; Land Sheriffs; and The Westgrove Group. After a three-course lunch, Vernon Rapley, the former Met Police man now security director at the Victoria and Albert Museum, gave a short talk about the work of protecting museums; and amused the audience by explaining how the Hollywood showing of art thieves – as in the movie The Thomas Crown Affair – is not the same as reality. Vernon presented ‘officer of distinction’ awards, sponsored by FM Contract Watch, to:

Hamed Aminaeeamameh, Axis Security Services, nominated by Sadlers Wells; Tom Atley, Ward Security; Phil Bailey, Westgrove Group; Alan Cutts, TC Security Services, nominated by Toyota Europe; Devin Desbonnes, Interr Security; the Land Securities team, from Broadland Guarding Services; Kevin Greenwood, Westgrove Group; Bishnu Gurung, Shield Security Services; Maverney Jones, CIS Security; James Kelly, Kingdom Security; Lee Klingenspor, Land Sheriffs; Grzegorz Stalmach, Kingdon Security; and the Workspace Group team, from The Keyholding Company. And Lynda Moore of FM Contract Watch presented the Silver Fox award for in-house security team to Graff Diamonds.
