Neil Sinclair was a Royal Engineer Commando, lifting mines in Iraq. He’s been a security guard at the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York, and a PCSO in London. And yet he still counts bringing his first son Samuel back from the hospital as one of the most daunting experiences of his life. Now he is a stay-at-home father and he is: Commando Dad.
He is the author of Commando Dad, the manual for new fathers, as a result of being an Ofsted qualified child-minder and father of three. Sub-titled, Basic Training – How to be an Elite Dad or Carer, birth to three years, it’s not about giving your children (or rather ‘troopers’) discipline, but how to organise yourself to do the right things as a dad, in Neil’s words it’s a ‘basic guide to all the practical skills I need to learn – fast’.
