NW NHS contracts

by Mark Rowe

Axis Security has new contracts within the National Health Service in the North West.

New contracts awarded by NHS Property Services in Oldham; Stockport; and Tameside and Glossop have now been added to its security contracts in Manchester, Trafford and Salford. Axis Security has had work with the NHS since 2005. NHS Property Services was created in April 2013, when it took over the responsibility for the Primary Care Trusts (PCT) contracts. As part of a rationalising process, many contracts were put out to tender.

Axis Security is providing a dedicated, round the clock mobile patrol service to Stockport’s 24 sites, as well as alarm response and CCTV monitoring and maintenance services; manned guarding for two of Oldham’s 18 sites and for the remainder an instant alarm response service; and for the four sites in the Tameside and Glossop contract, it is providing manned guarding at one site and access control and key holding services at the other three sites.

Melanie Wood, Commercial Manager at Axis Security says: “The detail and presentation of the documentation demonstrated that we had the knowledge and experience to provide the right services to suit the requirements of each contract, and at a competitive price.”
