NAHS briefing

by msecadm4921

With a change of venue from last year, Guy’s Hospital in London is the setting for the 2012 National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS) brunch briefing on November 15: ‘Dealing with Challenging Behaviour in Healthcare’. Organisers say that as resources become tighter and the demands made upon healthcare security services increase, the briefing aims to bring together up to 120 like-minded and interested delegates to address some of the challenges they face.

Chair of the association and briefing organiser, Peter Finch says: “We are all conscious of growing demands and in many cases reduced resources to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors to our healthcare facilities. By bringing together all the key players in managing challenging behaviour, we will be able to showcase best practice and share vital learning in what is an essential function of our organisations.

“The briefing will include sessions on the prevention and management of challenging behaviour, dealing with challenging dialysis patients, dementia awareness, and young people and mental health. We will also be focusing on Care Quality Commission Outcome 7 – Safeguarding Patients and the Court Assessment and Advice Service for mental health patients used in Somerset as an example of best practice.”

Featuring speakers with clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, the briefing will enable delegates to network with colleagues from across the country.  The conference will be of particular interest to Healthcare Security Managers, Child and Adult Safeguard Leads, Dementia Leads and those interested in methods to deal with challenging behaviour.

With views of London, from the 29th floor of Guy’s Tower near the iconic Shard building, the briefing starts with brunch at 10am and ends at 2.30pm. For more information and to book your place, contact: [email protected].
