At the new Aberdeen Emergency Care Centre, ADT Fire & Security won the competitive tender with a CEM AC2000 integrated access control, security management system (SMS); to secure the 400 doors at the premises.

ADT offered a customised solution which enabled us to import our existing 10 000+ staff card holders from our previous system directly into the new AC2000 system. This seamless transition saved both time and money in the present, whilst future proofing our system for the years ahead.”
Having worked with the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary before, ADT says that it understood the challenges of installing and managing an access control for emergency care. The AC2000 SE (Standard Edition) system, by CEM, was customised to migrate the legacy system to the new AC2000; including the access cards. This meant no downtime during installation and no extra spend on new staff cards.
The AC2000 system integrated into the care centre’s other CCTV, intruder detection and intelligent lift control. Acting as the SMS, the AC2000 video interface can associate access control alarms with Matrivideo digital video clips, enabling visibility of live camera footage via the AC2000 AED (Alarm Event Display) application. AC2000 AED allows security personnel to view all alarms, events and associated camera footage centrally on the AC2000 system.

The new Aberdeen Emergency Care Centre has replaced 40pc of the beds at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and combines all the services required to give emergency care under one roof.
