Its mission is to be “an effective, fair and efficient regulator of the private security industry”. The Home Office seeks to appoint a Non-Executive Board Member to represent Northern Ireland for the SIA who will contribute to the overall strategic direction and corporate oversight of the organisation.

The appointment will be for an initial three-year period and is expected to start by May 2012.

The SIA is the organisation responsible for regulating the UK private security industry. Regulation is effected primarily through a licensing system enabling trained individuals to work in specific fields of industry.
