University contract

After a competitive tender process, the contract for manned guarding at the University of Buckingham has been awarded to Risk Management Security Services.

Manned security services will be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a team of security officers who were all transferred from the previous contractor. That followed a consultation with the team members to ensure that all aspect of TUPE was observed.

The selection and mobilisation process took place using Microsoft Teams meetings and COVID-secure site visits. Then a detailed proposal was submitted and presented to the university. The focus of this, the contract guard firm says, was towards high quality levels of service, close and personal management support to both the security team and customer and the ability to accurately ensure all elements of the British Standards were adhered to in the overall delivery of the contract.

With customers in Buckingham and the surrounding areas, with the support of local management team in the town itself and Aylesbury, the university says that it was confident in the new methods of operation that would be adopted to accelerate the service levels and provide the team with the support they require.

Matthew Cross, Head of Estates says that ‘we selected Risk Management Security due to the excellent management focus and commitment shown to help us grow and improve on site security to all of our users. The change process has been very smooth and we are looking forward to building a long term relationship with Risk Management Services.’
