Crome Court, pictured, is the newest residence for the Norwich university, offering 231 ensuite rooms in flats of eight to 13 people. The design of the student accommodation is environmentally advanced and CO2 emissions have been kept as low as possible.

ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s Aperio product is fully integrated into the Gallagher Command Centre, which is an access control and critical business platform. According to the product companies, Gallagher’s integration with Aperio provides the university with a cost-effective solution that is suited to doors which require some level of security. The integration is available and supported worldwide and is applicable for all industries, the firms add.

Jason Boyce, Sales Manager at Gallagher, said: “We decided to offer the Aperio solution to University of East Anglia because of its outstanding reputation within the security industry. Unlike other systems, Aperio provides audit trails online, allowing for the real time monitoring of doors. In addition, the fact that Gallagher and Aperio systems can operate with the same data on the card has allowed for a tighter, seamless integration, which saves the customer money, as they do not have to code cards twice.”

Christine Beveridge, Head of Campus Services at University of East Anglia, said: “ASSA ABLOY Access Control have extensive experience within the education sector and we are pleased to be piloting the system in our student accommodation and hope to roll out Aperio across all new and existing residential estate.”

Wayne Dyble. Installation and Support Manager at Check Your Security, the network security installers, said: “As the service provider to University of East Anglia, we found ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s service faultless, their team provided useful training to carpenters on site to assist with the installation of Aperio.”

David Hodgkiss, National Sales Manager at ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “University of East Anglia have been one of Gallagher’s customers for ten years, therefore it was essential that they partnered with a company they trusted when it came to extending the Gallagher Command Centre system. Having worked with us for six years – Gallagher knew we would deliver with Aperio.”
