South west wins

Fire and security contracts from three Plymouth academic institutions have gone to a Plymouth-based company. Securi-Guard has been working with Plymouth University, Plymouth College of Art and Devonport School for Boys to deliver a variety of services.

At the university, the company is upgrading the campus CCTV, and has an extension on its maintenance and servicing contract.

The Estover-based company has also just completed a contract at Plymouth Art College’s new extension, providing fire and intruder alarms, plus access control systems and CCTV where new kiln rooms are housed.

And Securi-Guard engineers have completed a fire systems installation at Devonport School for Boys. The contract was carried out over the six week summer break to avoid disruption. Up to 12 engineers worked at the site at a time to complete the job in the specified time.

Mark Bostick, pictured, Securi-Guard’s Sales Manager for Fire and Security Systems, said the contract awards represented a real fillip for the company.

“These contract awards have helped us to make a real impact on Plymouth’s educational sector in terms of fire and security provision and are significant clients in terms of their standing in the city,” said Mark.

“Working with high profile clients such as these is really helping us to consolidate our position as one of the leading choices for fire and security solutions, both in Plymouth and across the region as a whole.”

The education sector work follows the recent award of a contract to Securi-Guard from Plymouth City Council. The council has placed all its fire and security requirements for more than 100 properties and schools in the hands of the Plymouth-based company under a two year agreement, which could be extended by a further two years.

Under the terms of the Building Maintenance, Repair and Refurbishment Framework, Securi-Guard is now responsible for the supply, monitoring and maintenance of all systems, which also includes 2,500 portable fire extinguishers. Visit: www.securi-guard.co.uk
