The BCS ISSG AGM runs on September 18 at Sophos Limited, Abingdon. The Annual General Meeting will be accompanied by a free event, hosted by Sophos. The Information Security Specialist Group (BCS-ISSG) was formed in 1984 as a specialist sub-group of the British Computer Society.
It is now one of over 50 such groups. The ISSG seeks to raise awareness of the risks to information systems and by identifying technical and non-technical methods for attaining acceptable levels of security.
Gareth Niblett, Chair of ISSG says: “With worldwide sales of smartphones reaching 1.8 billion in 2011 and demands for staff to use their own personal smartphones and tablets on the business network on the rise – information security is vital.” For details visit the ISSG website.
