London Cambridge properties (LCP), which manages the Wulfrun Shopping Centre, has chosen Axis Security to provide manned guarding services to the city centre shopping mall.
Axis Cleaning and Support services, formally LPM Cleaning and Support services, already meets the cleaning and maintenance needs of the centre in Wolverhampton’s city centre. Axis Security will provide the shopping centre’s 64 retail, bakery and café outlets with 228 weekly manned guarding hours. Officers will be responsible for the security, health and safety of tenants and shoppers. All officers will be first aid qualified and included in the guard company’s bespoke, site specific training. Each officer will be trained to evacuate the centre’s lifts should there be a relevant emergency.
LCP is one the UK’s largest private owners of industrial, retail and office property to let, managing a portfolio in excess of 14 million square feet across the UK, which is held for long term investment purposes. LCP uses its intensive management approach to enhance returns and maximise asset growth. Axis Security won the contract competing from two other providers. Colin Quinton, Centre Manager at the Wulfrun says: “All three providers offered excellent proposals. It’s a tough economic climate for retailers, and it helps them to know that their businesses and the 200,000 weekly visitors will be protected by well-trained and dedicated officers and that these high-quality services will still help keep their service charges at the lowest possible rates.”
