UK OSPAs on Thursday

by Mark Rowe

It’s final call to register for the UK Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) virtual awards show, say organisers at consultancy Perpetuity Research.

On Thursday afternoon, February 25, the security industry will come together to celebrate the achievements, in 15 categories, across the sector when the winners of the 2021 OSPAs will be announced at a virtual awards show which will be streamed live from 3:30pm. Making a guest appearances will be TV’s Paul Sinha, known as ‘The Sinnerman’ on ITV’s The Chase, and Alan Dedicoat the ‘Voice of the Balls’ on the National Lottery TV programmes.

The event, sponsored by TEAM Software, is free to attend; it’s in place of OSPAs founder, pictured, Prof Martin Gill’s usual Tuesday and Thursday afternoon thought leadership webinars. A Zoom Afterparty will follow as an opportunity congratulate the winners and network with colleagues and friends, organisers add. As with other events, this online one replaces the usual London physical event.

Staying with Perpetuity, their regular SRI (Security Research Initiative) project for 2021 is the covid-19 pandemic. As in previous years, it starts with an online survey – the deadline to take part is today. The researchers then carry out some interviews; those who take part get a free copy of the research, likely to be released in the autumn.
