Roney on ASIS UK board

by Mark Rowe

David Roney is joining the Operating Board of the UK chapter of the security management body ASIS, as director responsible for Counter Terrorism and Policing.

Dave recently retired from the police after a 35-year career. He was most recently the superintendent in charge of the UK official National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). Dave was a speaker for example at the spring 2017 Counter Terror Expo on CT and policing. He recently joined the guarding contractor VSG Security, which ASIS UK notes has strong ties with it.

ASIS UK Chapter Chairman, David Clark CPP PCI PSP, says: “David Roney has long been a friend and supporter of the UK Chapter of ASIS and during the latter part of his career as Head of NaCTSO he was very much our go-to senior police officer for all things Counter Terrorism and Policing related. Since leaving the police recently, it is an honour to be able to secure Dave as our Operating Board Director responsible for Counter Terrorism and Policing, this is an incredible coup for ASIS UK. This appointment further strengthens ASIS UK ability to support our members, influence, advise and lead on matters of national security interest. Dave adds another layer of expertise to an already impressive roster of experts on our Main Board and Operating Board.”

This brings ASIS UK’s main board and operating board numbers up to 14.

Roney served in the City of London Police and British Transport Police forces before moving into national CT policing.
