A briefing will also be given on ‘Project Servator’ the unpredictable (to those doing wrong), visible police deployments, designed to deter, detect and disrupt a range of crime, from hostile reconnaissance by terrorists to pick-pockets.

Baroness Ruth Henig CBE, Chair of SecuriGroup, the guarding contractor and event sponsor, will speak on ‘the value of security’. The former SIA chair and Labour working peer will cover the contribution and challenges of regulation within the security industry, and the importance of training and renumeration. The former Lancaster University academic was chair of Lancashire’s Police Authority (replaced by police and crime commissioners).

Doors will open at 8.30am, refreshments and breakfast snacks will be provided, and there will be opportunities to network before and after the event which is due to end at around 11.30am. The forensic marking product company SelectaDNA will have their crime prevention products available to view.
