Vertical Markets

Evolution and ISO 9001

by Mark Rowe

Evolution, the Buckinghamshire-based fire and security business, has achieved ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for Quality Management Systems. The firm says that the previous ISO 9001:2008 accreditation was well integrated within Evolution’s processes and procedures, enabling a smooth transition to the new standard which includes a number of developments.

One of the most significant is the need for a documented Risk Management process identifying the potential risks to the business. This required a comprehensive review of the company’s Business Continuity plan to enable the newly created Risk Register to record the key areas at risk (along with the level of risk) in greater detail. New emergency processes have also been created to include appropriate control measures to mitigate risks and identify those who may be affected.

Evolution Ireland worked with distributor Anixter to fit video surveillance products from Axis Communications at Ireland’s National Bird of Prey centre, for security purposes, and to increase visibility for the owners and visitors. Read that case study in full on the Evolution website.
