Digital Barriers, Capita agreement

by Mark Rowe

Digital Barriers and Capita have signed a global strategic partnership to integrate Digital Barriers’ technology with Capita’s control room offerings.

The agreement will see Digital Barriers’ live video streaming, body-worn camera, video analytics and live facial recogntion integrated with Capita’s control room solutions for the emergency services, critical responders and national infrastructure providers. It will also be integrated with Capita’s digital evidence management platform.

The firms say it means that facial recognition results can be shown in control rooms alongside other information, and streaming will provide new ways to view emergencies from the control room. What Digital Barriers calls its edge-intelligent solutions, already used by governments and commerce in more than 60 countries, will be sold through Capita globally. Digital Barriers will also promote Capita’s ControlWorks and VisionDS control room offerings via its own channels.

Paul Eggleton, Managing Director of Capita Secure Solutions and Services said: “We are very excited to be signing this agreement with Digital Barriers. The integration of this technology with our portfolio truly sets us apart in being able to offer the best facial recognition technology to our customers around the world.”

And Zak Doffman, CEO of Digital Barriers added: “This is the perfect time to partner with Capita as there is strong demand from law enforcement for technological advancements that promote officer safety and efficiency. We look forward to working in close collaboration to further accelerate our international growth.”
