Cyber Essentials webinar

by Mark Rowe

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI), with Risk Crew, a consultancy and IASME-accredited Cyber Essentials certification body, is hosting a webinar for NSI approved companies on Thursday, May 13. It’ll cover Cyber Essentials certification in today’s increasingly digital world.

The webinar’s topics will include the importance of cyber security in the security and fire safety sector; the Cyber Essentials certification versus the more detailed Cyber Essentials Plus, and which is appropriate for your business; certification benefits and the top five challenges, with related advice. It will finish with a Q&A session.

Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive will be joined by speakers Emma Philpott, CEO of the IASME Consortium Ltd; and Nick Roberts of Risk Crew, an information security governance, risk and compliance professional with 15-plus years’ experience.

The webinar follows the announcement in February of the partnership between NSI and Risk Crew, which was set up to provide a path for NSI-approved companies to gain Cyber Essentials certification.

Briefly; Cyber Essentials, a Government backed certification scheme independently awarded, provides evidence to customers, internal stakeholders, investors, insurers and others that the holder has essential cyber security precautions protecting a business, and customer data, from common online threats.

Richard Jenkins, pictured, said: “With SME breaches of cyber security at an all-time high, it has never been more crucial for organisations to review and address their cyber security weaknesses. When you consider the possible ramifications of cyber attacks on a business, whether this be the subsequent downtime, cost and/or reputational damage, Cyber Essentials/Plus Certification offers organisations real insight and guidance in implementing cyber security measures.”

NSI approved companies are invited to register via this link to attend, at 2pm on Thursday, May 13:
