CTX in move to DSEI

by Mark Rowe

The annual exhibition Counter Terror Expo (CTX) with Forensics Europe Expo (FEE) that usually run at London Olympia in the spring was due to run with IFSEC at Excel in London Docklands in May 2020; but for the pandemic. The owners of CTX, Clarion Defence and Security, report that their show will now run alongside the international defence exhibition DSEI, also a Clarion event, at ExCeL London from September 14 to 16, 2021.

As Clarion put it, CTX attracts attendees and exhibitors from across Europe, whom will now be able to seek counter-terror business synergies with a wider pool of stakeholders attending DSEI across the Land, Naval, Aerospace, Joint, and Security domains. DSEI 2021’s returning key accounts and first-time exhibitor numbers reflect the industry’s commitment to a return to live events, the organisers add.

Tracy Bebbington, Event Director, CTX and FEE, said: “As a strategic counter-terror event and the leading European forensics event, both with a global audience, large numbers of the collective audience typically travel to the event from overseas. We have decided that there is a strong crossover audience between CTX, FEE and DSEI attendees that we could leverage to deliver three events side-by-side in 2021 and enable our attendees to take advantage of the business opportunities this will offer.”

And Grant Burgham, DSEI Event Director, said: “We are pleased to report that we are on target to deliver our strongest ever DSEI in 2021, both in terms of new exhibitor bookings and organic growth of stand size. Thanks to careful management of the floor plan we can run CTX and FEE alongside DSEI and offer attendees and stakeholders a week of business opportunities that will prove to be worth the wait after a tumultuous 18 months for our industry.”

As most recently featured in the January 2021 print edition of Professional Security magazine, Excel, pictured, was in April made the first of several Nightingale Hospitals.

DSEI in London runs every other year; the 2019 event had some 1,700 exhibitors and 36,000 visitors. Visit www.dsei.co.uk.
