Building society contract

by Mark Rowe

After a competitive tender Yorkshire Building Society has awarded a five-year contract to Mitie. It’s worth £14.5m and covers engineering, catering and security; and 147 of the building society’s sites, including offices and branches.

The FM contractor’s engineering business will oversee maintenance and repair services across the Yorkshire’s estate, from Southampton and Portsmouth to Scotland. The facilities firm says it will focus on first time fix and lifecycle asset management by introducing its direct audits system, to offer visibility of asset condition and potential spend.

Gather & Gather, Mitie’s catering arm, will bring in two concepts – ‘lighter on the pocket’ and ‘healthy options’; enjoyable healthy eating options which are also cost friendly, the FM firm says.

Carlo Alloni, Managing Director, Mitie Engineering, said: “Drawing on our extensive experience and expertise in engineering, security and catering, we look forward to introducing new technology and innovation to transform services for Yorkshire Building Society and its employees.”
