Ajax update for users, installation partners

by Mark Rowe

Ajax Systems held its first Ajax Special Event yesterday. The security product firm’s broadcast was in nine languages: English, Ukrainian, Russian, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Turkish. Users and installation partners from some 96 countries were invited to attend the virtual presentation.

The session took the audience through product updates such as digital security tools. As of May, all Ajax users received default sessions control and an option to activate two-factor authentication. With these, cyber-attackers will not be able to access a user’s account even knowing a log-in and a password. And if an account is accessed from a suspicious device, the users will be notified and will be able to terminate a session.

Thanks to an alternative power supply unit (PSU), Ajax can protect movable property without power supply. The new PSU 12V and PSU 6V replace standard hub power supplies, allowing you to power the devices from a battery. Aleksandr Konotopskyi, CEO of Ajax Systems, said: “Now, you can use Ajax to protect what you couldn’t have before: boats, commercial cars, even camper vans. And millions of users of old wired systems can now easily and quickly get the modern level of security.”

Hub 2 Plus is the company’s newest central unit. That has a processor four times more powerful than in a normal hub and has eight times more memory, the developers report. It supports more detectors than the previous models – up to 200, including those with photo-verification; and more cameras – up to 100 pieces.

LTE support is available for the first time. Four independent communication channels are offered: two SIM (4G/3G/2G), Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Even an abnormal series of failures or malfunctions in the network equipment will not prevent the system from communicating with the outside world, the makers add.

The next release of the operating system OS Malevich 2.9 is scheduled for August. That new version will be available to the hubs of all models within a month. Then, you won’t have to reconfigure the central unit, dismantle and reconnect each device in the system, invite users, and define their rights. To import, you will only need access to the old hub and an internet connection. Among new features of the new OS: temporary device shutdown will allow users to avoid false alerts if the devices are not working correctly; and if the panic button is pressed, the coordinates of your smartphone will be transferred to the security company app. The panic button can be programmed for a specific notification type – whether intrusion or fire alarm, medical assistance, panic button, or gas alarm.

Ajax has introduced StreetSiren DoubleDeck, a wireless outdoor siren. A mount for a branded front panel can display the logo and contact details of a security or an installation company.

For wired security systems, a new MultiTransmitter integration module allows the integration of third-party wired detectors. You can connect 18 wired devices to it at once, and set up an alarm type for each. Cable devices will be connected to MultiTransmitter and will transmit alarms to the Ajax hub via the Jeweller radio network. Then, the hub will send them to the user’s smartphone and a monitoring station. There is an option to use groups, 24/7 arming mode, and involve third-party devices.

For large corporate clients, Ajax presented a beta version of its cloud-based central monitoring station — 911.
