You may not have heard of the US-based, Jacobs family-owned hospitality company Delaware North, but you will have heard of some of the places in the UK it has catering and hospitality contracts for: Wembley Stadium, pictured; The London Stadium, the 2012 Olympics main stadium now the home of West Ham United; Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium; Fulham Football Club, Craven Cottage, Derby FC’s Pride Park stadium and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
A three-year contract worth £210,000 was awarded after a competitive tender process to vetting agency, Procius, part of the facilities management (FM) contractor Mitie. Procius will vet over 4,000 existing Delaware North UK event staff in the first year; and a further 2,000 new applicants are expected to be vetted per year.
Delaware North runs a ‘Protect Me’ campaign to focus on security and protection for staff and customers. After a review of security procedures and protocols, all staff will be vetted in line with recommendations by the UK official National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). As well as the new Disclosure and Barring Service (“DBS”) documentation requirements, employees will also undergo basic criminal record and global sanctions checks.
Procius will deploy its MyCheck software, which will integrate with Delaware North’s Applicant Tracking System, and Human Resources and Time and Attendance System. The contractor says it will reduce the admin burden for the hospitality firm’s head office and events staff.
