by Mark Rowe

Westminster Group Plc the AIM listed supplier of products to the security, defence, fire protection and safety markets, reports that its international division has received an extension order valued at about $250,000, relating to its recently announced $3m contract for the supply of scanning equipment to be used in a counter terrorism role to protect a key installation in an unnamed Middle Eastern country.

The project is expected to be delivered in the summer 2013 and is to provide for the screening of vehicles entering an oil and gas plant to scan for contraband and threats concealed within vehicles before they enter the site.

Peter Fowler, Chief Executive of Westminster Group, said: “I am very pleased to announce this significant extension to our recently announced contract award to an important new customer within the Middle East. The extension contract, which has been placed so soon after the original contract award, is an indication of the confidence the client has in our services.”
