Safe city project

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, has its products installed in Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia.

Sucre, historically known as Charcas, La Plata and Chuquisaca, is in the south-central part of the South American country. As a developing city, it faces traffic flow issues and crime. The municipal government has launched a ‘safe city’ project.

Dahua, with a local distributor, Digital Security System SRL, has had installed network PTZ cameras (SD6A230N-HNI and SD59230S-HN) around the city, connected by wired and wireless IP communication.

Of those two models, SD6A230N-HNI has been the main product adopted. With 30x optical zoom, triple-stream encoding support, the cameras offer up to 60 frames per second (fps) at 720P and 30fps at 1080P resolution. As for outdoor surveillance, this series has an infra-red (IR) distance up to 150m and featuring day-night performance in any lighting the makers add.
The central control centre features Dahua’s Digital Surveillance System 7016D, the company’s first embedded general surveillance management console which integrates software and hardware. In the control centre, all the video can be stored for 30 days to fit the customer’s requirement.

Harold Ribera, Line Manager at DSS SRL, said: “We appreciate having Dahua, a responsible and professional company, as our partner. The clients were unfamiliar with the new system at first, but Dahua’s team help solve the bugs and problems with expertness and effectiveness.”

And William Zhou, Sales Director of Latin-America at Dahua Technology, said: “It’s an honor that Dahua can take part in the safe city project in Sucre. The result is obvious. After only a few months of operation, the whole area has seen a decrease in vandalism, theft, and violence. Dahua uses its advanced IP solution to secure property and people in Sucre. The longtime rigorous support from Dahua is highly regarded by the clients. We will continue to offer our strongest support and service.”
