Risk index

by Mark Rowe

One in four global organisations are being impacted by political violence, according to the Clements Worldwide Risk Index Winter / Spring 2017 edition.

The survey, compiled twice each year, found the number of organisations suffering the effects of a political violence event nearly doubled from a year ago, up 90 percent over the report issued last spring.

The leading concern for businesses when it came to political violence was the uncertainty around elections and protests associated with voting. Some 27.2pc of respondents said they were worried about the effect of elections in countries where they operate, up from 19.1pc the year before. The survey was from November to December 2016 with 511 executives responsible for global risk management at international organisations. To download, visit the Clements website.
