Presidential Palace CCTV

by Mark Rowe

Dahua Technology, the Chinese manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products based in Hangzhou, has had its IP cameras and DVRs fitted at Brazil’s Presidential Palace.

The Palácio do Planalto is the official workplace of the President of Brazil, in the national capital, Brasília. An upgrade is replacing the ageing analogue cameras with HD IP cameras while keeping part of the original analogue system.

The palace covers an area of 36, 000 square metres. The main building has four floors above ground and one underground. The HD IP Cameras were installed in each floor. The first floor consists of the main reception area, access control and security, entrance hall and press office. A large entrance hall is used frequently for temporary exhibitions. So that every corner was covered, more units were added.

A room for ministerial, government and presidential meetings, and press secretariat, are on the second floor. For ceremonies or important meetings high resolution was a requirement of CCTV. Dahua’s HDW2100 IP camera features1.3-Megapixel and infrared function, allowing image resolution at low-lux.

The third floor has the president and senior staff’s offices: waiting rooms and the offices of the senior advisors. A large lounge area and the offices of senior government officials are in the fourth floor. Dahua’s HDW2100IP camera is in use there.
The DVR1604HF-AL recorder supports full channel 960H real-time recording and GRID interface and smart search. It features multiple networks monitoring such as web viewer, CMS and DMSS. The makers customised the DVRs for the project in terms of the display mode, encoding settings, holiday functions and asset management functions.

William Zhou, Sales Director of Latin-America and Africa at Dahua Technology, said: “For such an extremely important place like Presidential Palace, it must need the high-level security to keep it away from potential menaces and terrorism. All the difficulties in the process of the project can be used as a reference for our further cooperation. Dahua is able to provide the suitable products and effective solutions to the users.”
