Organised crime strategy

Using interventions to stop people being drawn into serious and organised crime is a key part of Prevent, the official strategy to tackle serious and organised crime. That’s according to a new guidance document, ‘Individuals at risk of being drawn into Serious and Organised Crime – a Prevent guide’.

The pathways into serious and organised crime are wide ranging and complex. The authorities call this a new and developing area of tackling such crime, which includes trafficking and dealing in drugs, people, weapons and counterfeit goods; theft and robbery; fraud; money laundering and other forms of financial crime; and cyber crime.
