Online software

by Mark Rowe

A new online software has launched offering to make security providers more efficient and profitable.

uTRAC is designed for companies that provide staff on a project-by-project basis, so is, the makers say, suitable for security firms assigning numbers of people to sites. It links scheduling directly to invoicing; saving administration time and reducing the room for error. Initially designed for use in-house at Event Services Ireland (ESI), which provides crew for music and corporate events, it is now being launched to the wider events market, and is already in trial with security companies in the events sector. Ronan Moore, pictured, managing director at uTRAC says: “Like many others in the event industry, at ESI we were still using paper and spreadsheets to schedule staff, and then manually translating this onto our invoicing system. When you’re processing upwards of 65,000 hours a year this is a massive task for both the administration and operations department. I wanted something that would streamline and combine these processes.

“There were software packages available on the market but nothing that matched our requirements or business model, which is essentially the buying and selling of man hours. We developed uTRAC to meet this need and it’s impacted greatly on the productivity of the business as a whole. It’s hosted online which means it can be accessed anywhere and we’ve included lots of simple to use functions such as drag and drop scheduling and real time data on project profitability.”
