Online sales

by Mark Rowe

Maginus, a multi-channel retail software company, has helped Aldridge Security, a trade-only security product wholesaler and distributor, to record online sales. With a new Maginus eCommerce platform, Aldridge has seen the value of online sales increase by 15.7 per cent year on year and a 34.5 per cent rise in the number of orders placed online.

Maginus was commissioned by Aldridge after some detailed research which found the company needed to improve the ‘customer journey’ online and offer an ecommerce site. Maginus offered a one-stop-shop, to building and hosting the website. Bryn Thomas, eCommerce Manager at Aldridge, said: “We gave the designers at Maginus our brand guidelines and assets and they delivered a design that applies industry best practice, a much improved customer journey and delivered it with real flair.”

Mark Thornton, eCommerce Director at Maginus, said, “B2B eCommerce is in many ways more complex than B2C eCommerce and needs to be designed and implemented by people who really understand the market. We are delighted with the success of the new site at Aldridge Security and we look forward to making sure the company remain at the cutting edge of the security industry.”

The site has guided navigation, improved search, and control of promotions and merchandising. This means that it’s easier for customers to find the products they’re looking for, to check the prices and stock availability. Hence Aldridge has seen an increase in the number of customers registering to use its site. Based on the Maginus platform, Aldridge is planning to provide customers with more access to their accounts, including orders, invoices, payments and statements.
