NSI hails WiS night

by Mark Rowe

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) was again among the sponsors of the Women in Security Awards. The 2021 evening event on September 9 celebrated the contribution and achievements of women in the security sector.

The awards ceremony, organised by Professional Security Magazine, was held for the first time at Shakespeare’s Underglobe Theatre in London, after the 2020 awards had to run virtually; and was hosted by Roy Cooper, the Managing Director of the magazine and awards patron, Una Riley. Michelle Russell, the Security Industry Authority’s Acting Chief Executive Officer opened the evening in a speech, recognising the steps the industry has taken to become more representative of the society it serves and the momentum this is garnering.

NSI would like to congratulate each of the winners and finalists who, in all five award categories, included representatives from seven NSI approved/assessed companies:

Richard Jenkins NSI Chief Executive said: “The Women in Security Awards ceremony was a welcome occasion to reconnect with industry colleagues face to face. We have supported this event for many years and to hear the testimonies of the winners never fails to inspire.

“We warmly congratulate the outstanding winners and finalists who are clearly leading lights within their respective organisations and we wish them every success in the future. When faced with decisions about careers paths and choices, we would encourage women to consider the security sector with its huge diversity of roles which provide plenty of opportunities for long, fulfilling and successful careers.”
