Kent awards

by Mark Rowe

Kent Police and the Kent People’s Trust announce the Kent Community Safety Awards 2013. The awards ceremony will be recognise the people and businesses in Kent that assist in reducing crime and increasing safety to make Kent a safer place to live and work.

Chief Constable Ian Learmonth said: ‘These awards are about recognising and celebrating those people who have made a significant contribution to our county; whether through preventing crime, improving conditions for businesses to operate or tackling the blight of anti-social behaviour on our streets. Without the passion, hard work and determination of public spirited individuals, agencies and businesses, policing would be a lot more difficult.’

The award categories include the Business Safety Award, the Partnership and Innovation Award, the Community Safety Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The awards dinner will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at the Ashford International Hotel. The evening will be hosted by Nigel Wheeler, Chairman of the Kent People’s Trust with guest appearances from the new Police and Crime Commissioner, Anne Barnes; and guest speaker Clive Emson from Clive Emson Auctioneers.
