Inspiration in HR award

by Mark Rowe

The Inspiration in HR Award, now in its ninth year, seeks to recognise the work of Human Resources professionals. The award is open to individuals or organisations. Entries can be self nominated. The judges are looking to ensure that best practice in Human Resource Management is recognised where it is a business enabler. Previous winners have included ADT Fire & Security, Gemma Quirke of Wilson James, pictured; and the HR teams at guarding firms Advance Security, Corps Security and VSG.

Organisers make the point that service sectors necessarily rely on teams of people operating across a number of environments, from customer-focused settings through to those that require an in-depth knowledge of technology. For their part, Human Resources professionals play a key role in the selection, training and monitoring of thousands of individuals across these different spheres.

This year, the award presentation runs at The London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane on Wednesday, November 25. Entrants will be judged by a panel chaired by Gerry Dunphy, Event Director – IFSEC Fire & Security, which includes ASIS Chapter 208, BSIA, Skills for Security, the Security Industry Authority, the Security Institute and independent judges Baroness Ruth Henig, and Una Riley
