Greenway CCTV

by Mark Rowe

Public space CCTV is being installed on the Newham Greenway in east London, to cover the path for walkers, and cycling commuters between East Ham and Wick Lane. The project is funded by Transport for London (TfL), for the route on top of the (out of sight) sewer owned by Thames Water.

A pilot install between Barking Road and Prince Regent Lane, in March 2016, was to trial light levels to avoid impact on the local wildlife and neighbours, Newham council says. Lighting and CCTV on poles from WEC will be fitted about 200m apart. Work will go on until about March 2017.
