Front line officer study

by Mark Rowe

The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) with the UK consultancy Perpetuity Research are conducting a study of the roles, responsibilities and training of front line security officers.

As an online survey it aims to trace the current role and background of an officer: the tasks and skills required to complete duties; and the training requirements for a specific position. The study will run from April 9, to May 31. It takes up to 15 minutes to complete and is mainly multiple choice questions.

As for who is eligible to take the survey, it’s open to any front line security officer or guard (up to supervisor level) who is working in one of these countries:
o Canada;
o Ecuador;
o India;
o Republic of Ireland;
o Nigeria;
o Saudi Arabia;
o South Korea;
o UK; and
o USA.

Note that these initial nine countries have been identified for this initial phase and others may be added. And as for what the information will be used for, all of the information gathered will be used by the IFPO and Perpetuity in further development and expansion of educational schemes and certification standards within the industry. Your survey answers will be anonymous. At the end of the survey, you may choose to enter a valid email address for entry in to a prize draw to win a $50USD value Amazon Gift Card.
