DWP estate contract

G4S Secure Solutions has won a contract to secure the Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) estate of more than 700 properties in England, Wales and Scotland.

Described by the security multi-national as one of the largest integrated security contracts of its kind awarded in the UK, G4S says it will provide ‘technology-enabled security solution’ with G4S security officers across the DWP estate. The contract begins in April and runs for an initial five years, with a potential two year extension.

G4S Secure Solutions UK Managing Director, Doug Hewitson said: “Our innovative approach will reshape the current security provision to provide a safe and secure environment for DWP customers and staff.”

And G4S Group CEO, Ashley Almanza said: “We are delighted that the DWP has selected G4S to design and deliver this large, technology-enabled security solution. This adds to the growing number of clients across our markets who are using G4S’s integrated solutions which combine the group’s manned security, security technology and integration capabilities.”
