Women’s Security Society re-launch

by Mark Rowe

The Women’s Security Society (WSS) is re-launching. That’s a group for any woman who’s to do with security, of whatever kind, to meet. Courtesy of one of the organisers, Jayne King, the launch is in central London, at The Robens Suite, on the 29th floor of Guy’s Hospital, SE1 9RT, pictured, on Thursday evening, July 21.

Here’s the Eventbrite link – the event is free to attend. The nearest Tube station is London Bridge.

And here’s the schedule for the evening:

5.30 pm: Doors open for Registration/ Networking with food and drinks.
6pm: Hear from the new WSS board and their plans.
6:15pm: Introduction to a panel of ladies ranging from entry to Director level and who will take part in an interactive Q & A session. Have those at the top forgot what it was like to start out? Do those who have just started to climb the ladder know the tips and tricks that helped others?
7.15pm: A time to sum up the evening and hear from the audience what WSS can do for you.
7.30pm to 9pm: The evening is yours! With networking, nibbles and drinks, we open the event out to all our members to continue the conversation for the evening.

Organisers say their vision is to be an accessible, professional, and collaborative network, where women see security as a career of choice. The WSS aims to encourage, assist, and support women, to develop and grow the skills, experience and relationships they need to build a thriving career, in a fun, inclusive and safe space. The WSS hopes to see its membership grow with women from a range of backgrounds in both the traditional security fields including the public and private sector, physical security and law; as well as the growing fields of cyber, technology, information security as well as tech start-ups.
