Thanks again for ST fund-raising

by Mark Rowe

The networking dinner the night before the final Security TWENTY event of 2016 again came up with a bumper total in aid of a local charity. At ST16 London at the Park Inn Heathrow, the good cause was St Thomas’ Wegener’s Trust. Pictured left to right are Roy Cooper, the MD of Professional Security magazine; and Prof David d’Cruz, consultant rheumatologist at St Thomas’ Hospital.

The diners raised £2200 from donations towards playing the traditional heads and tails game; and a raffle for prizes donated by exhibitors and others. The trust was chosen by John Guest of Eligo Recruitment, in memory of his father-in-law who died of the disease. Prof d’Cruz briefly told the dinner about the trust’s work.

As Jarod Booth wasn’t there, Damian Marsh of distributor Anixter did the coin-tossing for the heads and tails game, while Roy Cooper was master of ceremonies.

Sponsors of ST16 Heathrow were Anixter, Hikvision, Hanwha Techwin, Axis Communications and CSL Dualcom. More words in the December 2016 print issue of Professional Security magazine. The next ST event, the first of 2017, is at Nottingham, at the University of Nottingham’s on-campus conference centre, slightly later than in previous years. The exhibition-conference is on Thursday, February 9; and the dinner the night before. Further ST17 events are running in Ireland (the red Cow, Dublin) on April 5; Harrogate (a new venue), on July 4; Scotland (another new venture, Glasgow) on September 5; and winding up the year again at the Park Inn Heathrow on November 2. For details contact the organiser Liz Lloyd on [email protected].
