The Security Institute board member Lisa Sharkey has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute. This was announced at the Institute’s 2017 Annual General Meeting, on Tuesday, April 25 as she retired from the board at the AGM.
The unusual step was made in recognition of Lisa’s voluntary contribution to the Institute by providing pro bono legal advice and assistance in her capacity as the Legal and Ethics Director and now as the Legal Advisor to the Main Board.
Lisa Sharkey is Partner at Poppleston Allen Licensing Solicitors. She said: “I have very much enjoyed my time with the Security Institute in my role as Legal and Ethics Director. To be awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute is very humbling and something I am very proud to accept”.
And Garry Evanson, Chairman of the Security Institute, said: “This is a very well-deserved recognition for Lisa who has given a huge amount of her own time to support the Institute and we all very much value her ongoing help and support as well as her expert advice.”
