Fraud Women’s Network patron

by Mark Rowe

The Fraud Women’s Network (FWN) has welcomed Lynne Owens CBE QPM MA, Director General, National Crime Agency as their Patron. Lynne had a 27-year career as a police officer before taking up the post as Director General of the National Crime Agency (NCA) in 2016.

The NCA heads the UK’s fight to cut serious and organised crime by developing the intelligence picture, investigating those offenders operating at the high end of high risk and developing and hosting new capabilities to respond to threats. She is a member of the Government’s National Security Council and chairs the National Strategic Tasking and Coordination Group, for a national response to priority threats, including child sexual abuse and exploitation, modern slavery and human trafficking, money laundering, cyber crime and the illicit supply of firearms to the UK.

Toni Sless, pictured, Chair of FWN says: “We are truly delighted to have Lynne as our Patron of FWN. FWN celebrates its 12th year in 2019 and continues to provide women in the anti-fraud and security arenas a way to network with other women in the industry, learn from industry experts at our events and also be offered mentoring opportunities. The patronage of Lynne helps us to continue to support all those working in the anti-fraud and security arenas from those just starting out, to those who are veterans in their fields.”
