by msecadm4921

Business security has certainly met significant challenges in 2020, with the emergence of COVID-19 seeing many companies having to cope with new threats. Cyber security was a bigger issue than ever, as much of the workforce began working from home, and new physical security concerns emerged as places of business temporarily shut down or continue to be closed for a lengthy period of time.

So, after such a hectic and turbulent year, what are the main business security considerations as we move into 2021?

Coronavirus Continuation

Of course, the Coronavirus Pandemic is yet to end, meaning many of the effects mentioned above will continue in the new year. Indeed, COVID-19 has already Changed the Growth of the Cyber Security Industry and businesses will have to adapt further in 2021. Whilst a vaccine is at long last being rolled out, the economic consequences will still have an impact on business security budgets, and measures companies are able to put in place.

Emerging Security Trends

Some long-term security trends will become more relevant than ever in 2021 thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The problem of digital scams, hacks, and data breaches is expected to strengthen next year, with many online threats still likely to be COVID and vaccine-related. Meanwhile, addressing ransomware attacks and data privacy issues will more ever-more important for strengthening long-term business security.

5G Security

The number of 5G mobile devices is expected to grow significantly in 2021, thus businesses will need to consider this when improving their cyber security. 5G networks will need to be protected against breaches and new forms of attacks, meaning companies will need to consider how to navigate a new landscape for the security of their customers as well as themselves.
