ACS Pacesetters awards date

by Mark Rowe

The 2021 ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards will be broadcast online from 12.30 hours on Wednesday, June 16. As usual – as pre-pandemic when the awards are a physical lunch, at Windsor – there’s a guest speaker, Michelle Russell, acting Chief Executive of the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

Michelle joined the SIA in January 2020 as Director of Partnership and Interventions and was appointed to her role in October 2020.

The awards reward and celebrate front-line security staff who have carried out exceptional actions while on duty. Some 12 security officers will receive an award this year. As the organisers say, it is an opportunity to recognise Officers who have gone ‘above and beyond’ and been recognised by both their employer and the customer.

The event will be hosted by Roy Cooper, Managing Director of Professional Security Magazine, and organisers have secured six sponsors who will be involved in the presentation: Centralus PLC, First Response Group Ltd, Orka Works Group, Security & Vetting Solutions Ltd, the SSAIB inspectorate and TrackTik.
