IFSEC update

by Mark Rowe

If you thought IFSEC was just wall to wall CCTV – think again, say organisers of the show, from June 20 to 22.

IFSEC is launching several new features and revamping some favourites for its 2017 edition. Here are five:

1) Borders & Infrastructure Expo
IFSEC International has been adapting to its increasingly diverse visitor demographic for several years now. 2017 marks the launch of Borders & Infrastructure Expo. Catering to senior security professionals from government, utilities, transport, logistics, sports stadia and events, and border control and law enforcement, it will cover counter terror, border security and the protection of critical national infrastructure. The expo will also feature an exclusive meeting service to pair high-value buyers with exhibitors.
2. The Drone Zone
Officially launched in 2016, the Drone Zone will return bigger, centre stage, within Borders & Infrastructure Expo. You’ll have the chance to speak to drone manufacturers an see them in action, flying above your head within ExCel London.
3. Free meeting service
In bid to ensure IFSEC International is a place to actually do business – and is not seen as just another trade show – the one to one meeting service will be revamped for this summer’s edition. Acting as match-maker, you’ll get face time with the exhibitors you want to do business with and can pre-book your meetings.
4. New seminar theatre
Within Borders & Infrastructure Expo, the Borders & Infrastructure Theatre will feature seminars, case studies and panel debates dedicated to counter terror, border security and the protection of critical national infrastructure. Installer-focused content, meanwhile, will now be found in the Tavcom Theatre.
5. Installer World
Not forgetting the thousands of installers, integrators and engineers who return to IFSEC year after year, in 2017 the show are dedicating a specific area of the floor to these: Installer World.
