Security modular panel sales

by Mark Rowe

Damien Lagan has joined Securiclad. The North East England-based firm’s modular composite panel systems are used to create secure spaces in sites including data centres, water utilities infrastructure, hazardous waste storage or healthcare facilities, financial institutions and retail units.

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Damien emigrated to South Africa with his family when he was a child and returned to the United Kingdom in 2012.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, he spent three decades in the mining and transport industries, where he specialised in bearings and hydraulics and worked as a sales engineer and divisional manager for companies including NSK Bearings and Federal-Mogul.

After running his own business for six years, Damien then had a career in passive fire protection, where he liaised with contractors, fire departments, architects, and in-house personnel, and performed a variety of project management roles. He worked on major upgrades to Johannesburg International Airport, the new diamond exchange in Botswana, major mine upgrades, and projects related to stadia ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

His work in passive fire protection also saw Damien – who holds degrees in marketing and accounting – gain experience in sectors including hospitality, healthcare, energy, steel and oil and gas.

Damien said: “Securiclad is operating at the forefront of the physical security sector and is a true innovator in its field. It’s therefore very exciting to be supporting the company in realising its growth objectives and to be able to bring my experience to bear in my work with contractors and end-users. And having worked and raised a family in South Africa during a very turbulent time, I’m well aware of the importance of physical security.

“I’m very much looking forward to being part of a vibrant and forward-thinking company that is helping to address the security challenges posed by criminals and terrorist organisations.”

Mike McColl, managing director of Securiclad, said: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Damien’s vast experience to the Securiclad team: his expertise in working with contractors and his extensive knowledge of a wide range of industry sectors and build scenarios will further enhance the service we offer our clients.”

About the product

Securiclad can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to an existing site, and is pre-finished, negating the need for wet trade requirements. It has both internal and external applications and can be used to form a standalone ‘room’, kiosk or partition. As the system is modular, it is bespoke and can be designed to specification.

Made at Securiclad’s factory in North Tyneside, the system is delivered across the UK and abroad. Securiclad can be offered as a turnkey solution, via approved and certified personnel or on a supply-only basis for contractors who prefer to install the system themselves. Securiclad can also be supplied fully assembled as a smaller kiosk, guard hut or small storage space. Visit www.securiclad.co.uk.
