Protection for tablets

by Mark Rowe

After attending BETT 2015, the annual trade show for the education sector, Traka, the key and asset management product company, reported an increased appetite for solutions to protect iPads, tablets and laptops.

In previous years, the use of iPads and android devices was still in the ‘innovation’ phase. In 2015 there has been a definite shift, the firm says, and the use of personal technology is now common in universities, colleges, high schools and primary schools alike.

Regardless of the popularity of the devices within education, the investment is still considered carefully. The firm says that 2015 is the first year it had more enquiries about the management of android devices than iPads.

Tanveer Choudhry, Global Marketing Manager at Traka, said: “In previous years the iPad was king. But, due to the open nature of Google devices and the fact that the outlay costs are still considerably cheaper, it seems to be a more viable option for a lot of schools. Regardless of the choice of technology, education professionals are keen to protect the investment, reduce the initial outlay costs and ensure that the students and the staff are getting the most out of tablets and laptops.

“Due to the healthy footfall and appetite to learn more about asset management, we were extremely pleased with the outcome of the show, and look forward to developing the new relationships we were able to build throughout exhibition.” Visit www.traka.com.
