Powered Gate Group 100th

by Mark Rowe

The Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has welcomed the 100th company to join its Powered Gate Group. It’s Trios Secure, an Enfield, north-London-based supplier of building and perimeter access and security products.

Michael Skelding, general manager and secretary of the DHF, said: “The DHF Powered Gate Group was set up following the tragic death of two young children in separate accidents involving unsafe automated gates. Its mission is to represent all the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, installers and maintainers of powered automatic gates and gate automation equipment and significantly raise levels of safety. We provide in-depth technical support, give our members advice on meeting safety legislation and provide comprehensive training for powered gate installers. Since we set up the powered gate training diploma scheme, almost 400 individuals have successfully completed their training. It’s most encouraging that Trios Secure and so many other responsible companies in the automated gate and perimeter access sectors recognise the benefits that active membership of the DHF bring. It enables them to make a real contribution to reducing serious accidents caused by poorly installed and maintained powered gates.”

Trios Secure, which installs, maintains and repairs gates, pedestrian and automatic doors, shutters and barriers, is joining both the DHF’s Powered Gate Group and its Industrial Door Group. Managing director Mike Delaney said: “We’re committed to investing in our staff and delivering a wide range of health & safety and customer care training. But we turn to industry specialists for vocational and product support – we see the DHF as a key component of our growing technical offering. Ensuring all our engineers are kept up to date with technical and statutory developments across the marketplace ensures we continue to offer a truly market-leading and professional service to our customers.

“The DHF is at the forefront of raising industry standards, and we believe that the range of benefits and support offered by the DHF in this respect make it an essential part of our service offering.”
