Lock to protect wearable products

by Mark Rowe

The retail theft-prevention and device security product company RTF Europe has launched the WatchLock. It’s a new series of retail security mounts designed to protect wearable products on sale, including the Apple Watch, smartwatches and high-value timepieces.

The WatchLock addresses the key problem of how to showcase live models of wearable tech in a way that’s flexible enough to allow customers to interact with the product naturally, yet still provide security.

Unlike traditional methods that use a tether, adhesive or alarmed band to provide some degree of protection, the WatchLock is designed for modern smartwatches yet flexible enough to cater for any form of strap-based timepiece, it’s claimed. An adjustable bracket clamps down onto the watch strap, so that the materials used in the strap itself do not compromise integrity. This is then held in place by a Vise-style grip. The makers add that the product’s built to cater for a range of shapes and sizes, it provides retailers with physical and alarmed security.

The lock is compatible with RTF’s Vise series of security products, and can be fitted to Vise base units, letting retailers to deal with stock rotation and new product integration. Units can also be mounted fixed or tethered solution. Visit – http://www.rtfglobal.com.
